Immediate opportunity for a full-time Fitter in the Geobear head office in Hatfield. As a Geobear Fitter, you will be a customer-focused professional dedicated to ensuring the high-quality execution of Geobear solutions. Your role will involve assisting the transport workshop team in maintaining vehicles and all associated plant such as pumps, generators, drills, and compressors to ensure the continued outstanding delivery of specialist geotechnical procedures across the UK.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability and occasional night work. As a vehicle/mechanical fitter for Geobear, you will be enrolled in a comprehensive training program set out by our specialist team, covering electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic training to understand the plant vehicles and heavy machinery equipment essential for our work across the UK.
Requirements:- Full UK driving licence
- Diagnose vehicle issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Diagnose plant issues.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other systems.
- Conduct routine services such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and brake inspections.
- Communicate with customers about vehicle problems and repair timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of services performed and parts used.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in automotive/heavy plant repair.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- In addition, knowledge of one of the following would be beneficial: hydraulics, auto electrics, pneumatics, or plant mechanics.
- Availability for occasional weekend and evening work is preferred.
- Forklift truck license and HGV License.
