This role will initially focus on growing Geobear’s Social Housing & residential Public Sector accounts, building long-term relationships with local councils, housing associations and other public bodies.

Your Impact and Responsibilities:
As an Area Manager, you will be at the forefront of our client engagement, working directly with customers to understand their unique needs and deliver bespoke solutions. While you\'ll be largely autonomous in your client interactions, you\'ll be fully supported by a team of highly skilled technical experts. These specialists possess solid communication skills and extensive experience in the delivery of advanced ground improvement methods, ensuring you always have the backing you need to succeed.
You’ll be expected to consistently meet and exceed targets within demanding timelines, taking immense pride in delivering high-quality technical services and solutions that truly add value for your clients. Your day-to-day duties will encompass a wide range of critical activities, including:
- Strategic Target Setting: Proactively setting ambitious weekly and daily activity and result targets, and relentlessly striving to surpass them.
- Proactive Business Development: Identifying decision makers within target organisations and approach via cold calling and other proactive sales techniques in order to secure new and repeat business.
- Opportunity Qualification: Skilfully qualifying new inbound opportunities, identifying potential clients and projects that align with Geobear\'s expertise.
- Site Engagement: Conducting thorough primarily online and frequent in-person site visits to assess project requirements and gather crucial information.
- Project Design Expertise: Taking the lead in designing innovative projects, accurately interpreting site investigation data, arborist reports, and drain survey data to craft detailed and effective treatment designs.
- Financial Acumen: Preparing comprehensive pricing structures and compelling quotations that clearly articulate the value proposition to clients and that have the highest chance of winning the business.
- Agree Variations: Managing changes to pricing during delivery to maximise both profitability and customer satisfaction
- Sales Pipeline Management: Diligently following up on leads daily and accurately forecasting expected order dates to maintain a robust sales pipeline.
- Data Integrity: Ensuring timely and accurate input of all relevant data into our CRM system, maintaining a high standard of data hygiene.
- Operational Readiness: Guaranteeing that all orders received are meticulously prepared for scheduling and delivery as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Technical Support: Providing crucial technical support to clients and internal teams throughout the project delivery phase, addressing any queries or challenges that arise.
- Financial Collaboration: Supporting our finance department in the crucial task of cash collection from clients, fostering smooth financial operations.
- Customer Resolution: Liaising effectively with customers regarding any complaints, performing on-site complaint visits when necessary, and working towards swift and satisfactory resolutions.
- Build Relationships: able to secure initial and repeat business with a variety of different clients, including identifying decision makers and expanding relationships.
- Proactive Business Development - Cold Calling - no inbound leads
- Adherence to Procedures: Strictly adhering to all company procedures, ensuring consistency and compliance in all operations.
- Performance Feedback Loop: Actively collecting and acting upon feedback regarding the on-site performance of your projects, driving continuous improvement.
- Process Enhancement: Contributing valuable insights to the ongoing development and refinement of our sales processes, helping us to continually optimize our approach.

Preferred Background:
Experience selling ground engineering solutions to local councils, housing associations or other public-sector organisations is highly desirable, a construction related background is required.
Requirements:
To thrive in this challenging yet rewarding role, you will ideally possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Technical Sales Expertise: A proven track record of success in technical sales roles, demonstrating your ability to articulate complex solutions to clients.
- Public-Sector Sales Success: Demonstrated success selling to local councils and housing associations, with deep knowledge of how to penetrate new accounts, establish them as key targets, and secure long-term frameworks. Must show experience in building repeat business, managing stakeholder relationships, and converting councils and housing associations into ongoing partners.
- Industry Experience: Working experience within the construction industry, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience in the residential buildings sector.
- Relevant Qualifications: A pertinent qualification in a construction, engineering, or surveying discipline (e.g., BSc / MSc / OND / HND / Degree).
- UK Subsidence Knowledge: A solid understanding of common subsidence problems prevalent in the UK would be highly advantageous
- Customer-Facing Proficiency: Extensive experience in customer-facing roles, with demonstrable and exceptional customer care skills.
- Virtual Technology Acumen: Practical experience with virtual technology operating systems, showcasing your adaptability to modern business tools.
- Driving Licence: A full, valid driving licence is essential for this role, as it will involve significant travel.
- Results-Oriented Mindset: While not strictly mandatory, a strong sense of money motivation and a drive to achieve financial targets will be a significant plus.
Reporting Line & Progression:
The Area Manager will report directly to the Head of Social Housing. Successful performance in this role can lead to Senior Area Manager or Team Lead positions as the team expands.
