We’re on the hunt for a talented Business Development Manager to join our team at Navigators and General. This pivotal role, reporting to our Head of Marine, offers the flexibility of being home based with the requirement of regularly travelling to meet with stakeholders. You will be responsible for promoting our Marine specialisms through existing and new broker agencies.
What does a Business Development Manager here do?
- Lead the development of an annual Geo Marine strategy and financial plan, setting income and profit targets across Brokers and Affinity client base.
- Identify and drive new distribution opportunities and growth initiatives within marine underwriting specialisms.
- Create new routes to market by expanding the customer base and developing relevant marine propositions.
- Support business growth through collaboration with broker placing teams, network relationship, Affinity clients and marketing.
- Monitor and report on New Business placement data to shape future strategies and opportunities.
- Support the development sales, technical and business skills of colleagues working in sales and underwriting.
- Regularly review panel performance with the Sales Director and Trading Managers, identifying strategies and tactics for underperforming accounts.
- Organise and lead engaging social events for brokers to strengthen relationships.
What are we looking for in our next Business Development Manager?
- A high level of Commercial Insurance knowledge including the Marine sector.
- Previous experience of developing business with Insurance Brokers.
- An established Marine sector reputation.
- Must have a full license and not be restricted from driving.
- Preferably ACII-qualified or making progress towards this qualification.
- Experience of delivering income targets.
- Experience of supporting proposition development, in respect to products, services and/or client servicing propositions.
- A confident public speaker, excellent presentation skills with an engaging style and confident presenting to audiences of different sizes.
