About the Opportunity
The Fulham Correctional Centre requires staff to fulfill Administration Support Officers (ASO) across a number of Departments. Areas may include:
- Vocational Services
- Rehabilitation & Reintegration
- Health Services
- Custodial Services
- Human Resources
- Finance & Administration
- Maintenance
We are seeking applicants who are keen to work on a Full-Time, Part-Time, Casual or Maternity Leave cover basis (one or more days a week) for anywhere from four to eight hours a day. We are happy to discuss options with suitable applicants.
Due to the nature of the role of ASO position, to be successful, applicants will require the ability to work directly with prisoners in a correctional environment, complying with the security policies and procedures of the Centre. GEO will require applicants to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances from Victoria Police and Corrections Victoria (at GEO's expense). The successful applicant is also required to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencing employment.
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- High-level competence in the use of computer systems, databases and other applications and an ability to learn new systems efficiently and effectively.
- Previous experience in administrative roles and/or office management and support.
- Demonstrated high-level organisational and time management skills, verbal and written communication, including an ability to effectively minute meetings and prepare reports.
- Clear and evident professional boundaries with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and provide administrative support to a range of professionals.
- Attention to detail and self-discipline leading to accurate data entry into information management systems.
- Ability to liaise across various levels within the organisation (including, the Senior Management Team, Correctional Managers, External stakeholders, Custodial and non-custodial staff).
- Previous experience working in a correctional setting or other fast-paced environment would be advantageous.
