Role Purpose

To support the manufacture, testing and continuous improvement of high-voltage power supplies. This is a hands-on engineering role combining electrical assembly, testing, fault-finding and engineering support activities. Please note: This is a practical production-based engineering position and not a purely office or design role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire high-voltage power supplies, prototypes and electrical subassemblies.
  • Work from schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, BOMs and assembly instructions.
  • Carry out soldering, crimping, cable preparation, panel wiring and general assembly.
  • Use Multimeters, oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
  • Perform inspections, continuity checks and functional testing.
  • Support fault-finding, calibration and high-voltage testing following training and authorisation.
  • Record test results and prepare technical reports.
  • Assist with BOMs, wiring diagrams, assembly instructions and test procedures.
  • Support engineering changes, product improvements and prototype development.
  • Follow all health, safety, quality and ESD procedures.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic circuits.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Basic experience using electrical test equipment.
  • Strong practical interest in hands-on engineering work.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Methodical, organised and safety-conscious approach.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Applicants must be sole British nationals and capable of obtaining and maintaining the level of security clearance required for this position.

Desirable Requirements

  • Practical engineering projects, electronics hobbies or Formula Student participation.
  • Experience of soldering, crimping, wiring or PCB assembly.
  • Knowledge of power electronics and electrical testing.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, fault-finding techniques or CAD software.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, particularly sheet-metal design and producing manufacturing drawings.
  • Industrial placement or manufacturing experience.
