Role Overview
We are looking for someone to join our Tax team in the Basingstoke office. You will support the Group Tax Manager and International Tax Manager in delivering accurate and timely tax compliance and reporting across UK and international jurisdictions.
You will have responsibility in preparing UK corporation tax computations, assisting with transfer pricing calculations and documentation, supporting Country-by-Country (CbC) reporting, and contributing to year-end and interim group tax reporting processes.
You will need strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across global teams to ensure compliance and efficiency.
This role is hybrid and will require 2 days in the Basingstoke office.
You Will
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Compliance & Reporting
- Prepare UK corporation tax computations and returns for review by the Group Tax Manager including extraction and analysis of financial information from D365.
- Assist with tracking international tax payments and preparing supporting schedules.
- Draft responses to HMRC correspondence under manager supervision.
- Prepare year-end and half-year tax reporting calculations under IFRS using OneSource Tax Provision (OTP).
- Prepare tax notes for statutory financial statements of UK entities.
- Assist with VAT/Customs Duty projects and e-invoicing mandate implementations.
- Support employment tax queries including liaising with HR and advisers on global mobility questions.
International Tax
- Work with the finance team to gather financial and tax data for Country-by-Country (CbC) reporting and Pillar Two calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing calculations and work with advisers to prepare TP local files.
- Support international expansion projects by collecting data and preparing initial compliance assessments.
- Assist with withholding tax residency certificate applications and completion of WHT returns.
General
- Liaise with local finance managers to maintain accurate records and documentation for global tax filings.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline tax processes.
- Work with internal finance teams and external tax advisors as required.
Requirements
- Educated to degree level with ACA, CTA or equivalent qualification on top
- Ability to work with colleagues throughout the Genus business and across all grades
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with working on tax matters on own from home three days per week
- UK corporate technical tax knowledge including group and international tax aspects
- Alphatax tax software knowledge desirable but not essential
- Ability to use OneSource Tax Provision, Microsoft Power Pivot or IBM TM1 would be useful but in-role training can be provided
- Some VAT knowledge would be an asset to support with ad hoc queries
- Four or more years of experience gained in a large accountancy firm or multinational in-house tax department
