Role Overview
We are looking for someone to join our growing inside sales team. If you have experience of the agricultural industry and want to help build strong relationships, this role could be for you. As an Inside Sales Representative, you will play a key role in growing Genus ABS's customer base and supporting the success of our genetics and product portfolio. Working directly with livestock producers, you'll build strong customer relationships, identify sales opportunities, and provide expert guidance on Genus ABS genetics and related products. Using telephone, email, and digital channels, you'll work collaboratively with field sales, technical, and customer support teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience while achieving commercial goals. This is a hybrid role working out of our Stapeley office twice per week plus ad hoc meetings and travel.
You Will
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
- Promote and sell Genus ABS genetics and associated products, including Valiant and Powerstart.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross‑sell products and services that add value to customers' operations.
- Manage inbound customer enquiries and proactively conduct outbound sales activity to generate revenue growth.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales records within CRM systems.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the genetics portfolio, products, and market landscape.
- Work closely with colleagues across sales, marketing, technical support, and customer service to ensure excellent customer outcomes.
- Monitor performance against key sales metrics and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous sales experience, ideally within agriculture, livestock, animal health, or a related industry.
- Experience in telephone‑based or inside sales is advantageous.
- Knowledge of bovine genetics, semen products, dairy, beef, or animal nutrition would be beneficial.
- Experience working with CRM systems and maintaining accurate customer records is desirable.

- Confidence engaging customers over the phone and through digital channels.
- Ability to identify customer needs and recommend suitable solutions.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to team success.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Education
- A degree or qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Other Requirements
- Occasional travel within the UK may be required.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
