We are looking for a Logistics and Distribution Manager for GB & EU to join our team. You will be responsible for leading the end-to-end distribution strategy and execution across the region, ensuring reliable, cost-efficient, and compliant delivery of Genus ABS products and services to customers. You will oversee distribution planning, logistics strategy, inventory positioning, and last-mile service while driving cost efficiency to support customer excellence. You will partner closely with Commercial, S&OP, Operations, R&D, Finance, IT, and Customer Experience teams to align logistics and distribution capabilities with business priorities and foster a strong “One ABS” culture across regions and functions. You will also develop a high-performing team, build organizational capability, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while leveraging data and technology to enhance decision-making and operational performance.
You Will
- Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership & Network Optimization
- Define and execute the regional logistics and distribution strategy aligned with business growth objectives while ensuring excellent customer service.
- Continuously optimize the GB & EU distribution network, including routing models, inventory placement, and transportation modes.
- Oversee third-party logistics providers, ensuring performance against service, safety, quality, and cost expectations.
- Develop KPI governance and performance management to sustain operational excellence.
- Implement automation, digital tools, and advanced analytics to enhance network efficiency, resilience, and visibility.
- Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure consistent, on-time, and in-full delivery while maintaining the highest quality, animal welfare, and biosecurity standards.
- Establish standardized operating procedures to improve reliability and productivity across the region.
- Lead root-cause analysis for service disruptions and implement corrective actions.
- Cost Leadership & Financial Accountability
- Own and continuously optimize the regional cost-to-serve model, aligning logistics costs with customer segmentation, service levels, and growth priorities.
- Develop multi-year cost improvement roadmaps while protecting service and regulatory compliance.
- Own the regional logistics and distribution budget, including forecasting, variance analysis, and capital planning.
- Distribution Technology & Digital Enablement
- Optimize route planning, scheduling, and last-mile execution through advanced planning tools.
- Partner with IT to ensure integration with ERP, inventory, and order management platforms. Champion adoption of digital tools through structured change management.
- Utilize analytics to identify productivity opportunities and improve decision-making.
- Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner with Commercial teams to align service models with customer segmentation and growth strategies.
- Collaborate with R&D and Operations to support product innovation, cold-chain requirements, and regulatory needs.
- Support organizational design and workforce planning with HR.
- Customer Impact
- Ensure logistics capabilities differentiate Genus through reliability, responsiveness, and transparency.

- Risk, Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, animal health standards, hazardous materials requirements, and regional safety laws.

- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field required.
- Master’s degree or advanced supply chain certification preferred.
- Experience
- 8–12+ years of progressive logistics or supply chain leadership experience.
- Proven success managing multi-country or regional distribution networks.
- Strong background in network design, transportation strategy, and cost-to-serve optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change and scale operations.
- Experience partnering with commercial organizations to enable profitable growth.
