Polypipe Building Products is focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. We work with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products. Role
The job holder is responsible for the efficient planning of deliveries and collections, maximising the utilisation of the Polypipe Fleet and drivers and ensuring all customer orders are planned for despatch to achieve maximum OTIF capability in line with current driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and co-ordinate the efficient despatch to meet customer requirements including organising collections
- Load build using DIPS planning software
- Respond to queries and requests from internal stakeholders, identifying best possible solutions
- Collate KPI data and update spreadsheets and operational management boards, ensuring maximum service levels are maintained
- Printing paperwork, sorting and adding required information to load pack
- Uploading planned routes into Lorry route software
- Updating and maintaining the planning and warehouse management system delivery point data to ensure it reflects current requirements
- Ensuring new delivery points are assessed prior to initial delivery
- Monitoring all customer booking in requirements and ensuring full compliance
- Providing support to transport admin team where required
- Ensure activities are carried out whilst complying with all measures introduced by the company with respect to Health, Safety and the Environment
- Report all accidents and incidents and support follow up investigations where necessary
Skills & Experience
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Reliable and punctual team player
- Working knowledge of Microlise would be beneficial
- Geographical awareness of UK
- Have experience of using transport planning software, either Dips, DPS or Paragon
- Knowledge of road transport regulations & Operators licensing responsibilities in relation to Heavy Goods Vehicles and the use of the UK road network
- Computer literate – good knowledge of MS office packages
- IFS experience would be advantageous
