We are a team of highly skilled and trained scientists who work from purpose-built, UKAS accredited laboratories in Sittingbourne, Slough and Manchester.Now part of the Genuit Groups’ Climate Management Solutions (CMS) business unit, Alpha has ambitious growth plans.**The Role** The Sample Reception technician will work together with the Laboratory team in Slough to enable water testing to specific SOP’s and ensure all quality control procedures are followed to ensure the validity of results. The individual should have enthusiasm for science and wish to develop technically to understand heating and chilled water systems. The Technician will play an active part in ensuring the highest quality of service to clients. The role will involve extensive use of the company LIMS system to allocate testing schedules to samples received. Working hours: Full time Tuesday – Saturday 05:00 -13:00**Fixed Term for 3 months** Working style: Onsite, lab based **Responsibilities*** The Sample Receipt Technician is responsible for ensuring that all samples received in the laboratory are correctly recorded and accurately allocated testing to specified client requirements within the appropriate time frame through the use of the LIMS system.* The Sample Receipt Technician will assist in maintaining the laboratory accreditation to ISO 17025.* Apply health and safety and quality standards as required by the Company, statuary legislation and external customer requirements.* To ensure that all customers contractual terms are met and that laboratory process comply with quality standards implemented.* Promote best practice throughout the laboratory, in terms of quality driven laboratory production.* To carry out any reasonable duties as specified by the line manager.**The Person*** GCSE in Science and an interest in science* Excellent IT skills with a high level of accuracy along with an eye for detail* To have excellent communication and organisation skills* To be able to work within set targets and goals and be able to manage expectations* To be able to work well in a team with a reliable , open honest and approachable character**The Benefits*** 25 days holiday* Pension contribution matched up to 8%* Life Assurance 3x base salary* Private health scheme* Genuit sharesave schemeHere at the Genuit Group we recognise and develop the contribution our people make to the Group’s success and are committed to attracting talent from the widest pool.
