Love fixing things? Enjoy getting stuck in? Join a team where your skills make a real difference. Some people see a machine that's broken, some see an exciting challenge. Whether it's tracking down the cause of a breakdown, replacing worn components before they become a problem or improving equipment to make it run better, you take pride in keeping things moving. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
At Manthorpe Building Products, we manufacture innovative building products used in homes and commercial buildings across the UK. Behind every product is a team of skilled engineers who keep our production lines operating safely, efficiently and reliably—and we're looking for another Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join them.
As part of the Genuit Group, you'll enjoy the stability of a well-established business alongside a culture that values teamwork, continuous improvement and investing in its people. We believe the best ideas often come from those on the shop floor, so your experience, knowledge and suggestions will always be welcomed.
What does the role involve? No two shifts are ever quite the same—and that's exactly what makes the job interesting. One day you could be stripping and rebuilding production equipment, replacing bearings, gearboxes or pneumatic components. The next, you'll be responding to a breakdown, carrying out planned maintenance or working on projects to improve machine reliability and reduce downtime. You'll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly and helping the business deliver for its customers every day. It's a varied, hands-on role where you'll use your mechanical expertise to solve problems, improve equipment and work alongside a supportive engineering team.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and site equipment.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults quickly and safely.
- Responding to breakdowns and getting equipment back into production with minimal downtime.
- Replacing and repairing mechanical components including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and pneumatic systems.
- Supporting electrical engineers where required as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team.
- Assisting with machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
- Working closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Helping maintain engineering stores and ensuring critical spare parts are available.
- Promoting a safe working environment and following all Health & Safety procedures.
- Identifying opportunities to improve machinery, reduce waste and increase efficiency.
About you: You're someone who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in doing a job properly. You'll have experience maintaining machinery within a manufacturing or production environment and be confident working on a wide range of mechanical equipment. You don't mind getting your hands dirty, enjoy working as part of a team and are happy using your own initiative when the situation calls for it.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Skilled at fault finding and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Familiar with hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating machinery.
- Calm under pressure and able to prioritise breakdowns effectively.
- A team player who communicates well with colleagues across the business.
- Always looking for ways to improve equipment and working practices.
- Committed to working safely and maintaining high engineering standards.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys engineering and wants to be part of a team that's proud of what it does.
Why join Manthorpe? Because this is more than just another maintenance role. You'll be joining an experienced engineering team where people genuinely work together, share knowledge and support one another. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills, contribute ideas and play an important role in improving our manufacturing operation. We invest in our people because we know they're our biggest asset—and we're committed to creating an environment where you can build a long-term career.
What you'll get:
- Competitive salary
- Rotating shifts: 1 Week 6:00am-2:30pm and 2 Week 2:00pm-10:00pm
- Company pension with employer contributions matched up to 8%
- Life assurance

- Sharesave Scheme
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Free annual flu vaccinations
- Occupational health, physiotherapy and counselling services
