Role Overview
The Class 2 Driver will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 vehicle to deliver goods and services to our clients while adhering to all road safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to customer service, and the ability to maintain accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class 2 vehicle safely, following all traffic laws and company procedures.
- Deliver goods and materials to scheduled locations, ensuring timely and accurate service.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks, reporting defects promptly.
- Experience in securely strapping loads in a safe and legal manner.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation including logs, mileage and incident reports.
- Provide professional customer service and resolve delivery-related queries.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, hours-of-service rules and company H&S policies.
- Collaborate with warehouse, logistics and planning teams to support efficient operations.
- Follow company Health, Safety & Environment procedures and driver handbook requirements.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in daily work tasks and processes.
Skills and Experience
- UK Driving Licence Category C.
- In-date UK Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
- Strong navigation ability and working knowledge of UK road networks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experienced in safely and legally securing loads.
- Willingness to night out as required.
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturday mornings.
