The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of People & Culture to lead the people agenda across our Residential Segment within the Water Division.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you'll partner closely with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver a people strategy that drives business performance, supports growth and strengthens organisational culture.

Reporting to the Managing Director – Residential, with a functional reporting line to the Divisional People & Culture Director, you'll provide strategic leadership across:

  • Polypipe Building Products (Doncaster)

  • Manthorpe Building Products (Ripley)

  • Salamander (Sunderland)

  • Talon (Reading)

You'll lead a talented People & Culture team and play a key role in ensuring our businesses have the capability, culture and talent needed to achieve their ambitions.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering a people strategy aligned to business and Group objectives.

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on organisational effectiveness, workforce planning and business transformation.

  • Driving talent management, succession planning and leadership development across the segment.

  • Building a high-performance culture through effective performance management and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Leading organisational change programmes and supporting business growth.

  • Championing diversity, equity and inclusion and creating an environment where colleagues feel valued and supported.

  • Providing leadership on complex employee relations matters and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.

  • Leading, coaching and developing the People & Culture team to deliver a consistent, high-quality people service.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an experienced People Leader who combines strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience in a senior People leadership position within a complex, multi-site organisation.

  • A proven track record of developing and implementing people strategies that deliver measurable business results.

  • Experience leading organisational change, cultural transformation and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance business priorities with a people-centred approach.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience partnering senior leadership teams.

  • Strong employee relations expertise and a sound understanding of UK employment legislation.

  • Experience leading and developing high-performing HR teams.

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification, or equivalent experience.
