About the Role
We're looking for an experienced
Head of Payroll to lead our Group payroll function, ensuring colleagues are paid accurately, on time and in full compliance with all legislative requirements.
Reporting to the
Group Reward Director , you'll lead a team of four payroll professionals, oversee UK payroll operations, provide governance across international payroll activities, and drive continuous improvement through technology, automation and process optimisation.
What You'll Do
- Lead the end-to-end payroll function across the Group.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, including statutory and year-end requirements.
- Maintain strong payroll governance, controls and compliance with UK legislation.
- Drive payroll transformation, process improvements and system enhancements.
- Partner with People & Culture, Finance, Tax, HRIS and external providers to deliver an outstanding payroll service.
- Act as the organisation's payroll subject matter expert.
- Develop and inspire a high-performing payroll team.
What We're Looking For
- Significant payroll leadership experience within a complex organisation.
- Expert knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments.
- Experience leading payroll systems, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong understanding of payroll controls, governance and audit requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
- CIPP qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience with Workday or similar integrated HR/payroll systems is desirable.
