The Finance Manager reports to the Finance Director, is part of the Management Team and has six direct reports. This role leads and assumes overall accountability for the day to day running of the finance department, financial reporting & control and finance business partnering with the wider management team. They will actively promote the Trademark Behaviours and consistently lead by example in so doing.
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Working style: Hybrid setup, with a preference for office-based collaboration for finance business partnering and team leadership and development.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and coaching the finance team (objective and priority setting, personal development plans, managing workload & resource, identifying & driving forward finance projects and efficiency improvements, succession planning, oversee transactional processing)
- Leading and evolving the monthly financial and business performance reporting (management accounts, variance analysis and understanding of financial & business performance)
- Finance business partnering with the management team and budget owners (playing a proactive role within the management team, establishing strong collaborative relationships across the business, providing analysis to support and challenge business decisions, supporting development of financial management skills with budget owners)
- Preparation of the business budgets and forecasts and assessing risks & opportunities (annual budget, quarterly forecasts, regular cash-flow forecasting and cash flow management)
- Ownership and improvement of the financial control framework and processes (month end, balance sheet reconciliations and implementing, testing & maintaining compliance with local and group policies)
- Establishing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with Genuit group colleagues (including regular reporting, payroll, introducing new policies and procedures, group wide projects e.g. ERP and other software implementation projects)
- Leading the statutory audit process and tax compliance & control processes (VAT and corporation tax).
The Person: We're looking for a skilled finance professional, ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or with equivalent experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You'll be:
- Delivery-focussed, with strong prioritisation and delegation skills someone who takes ownership of deadlines and quality
- Commercially astute, able to communicate financial insights clearly across varied audiences
- Analytical and curious, using data to drive business decisions
- Energetic, motivated, and solutions-focussed in your approach
- Experienced in change management and supporting finance/business transformation
- Organised, confident, and committed to high standards of integrity
- Proficient in Excel for modelling and analysis, and familiar with ERP systems for finance processing & data extraction
Desirable: Experience working in listed/plc group or in a manufacturing business.
