Keep our factory moving. Solve problems. Make a real impact.
If you're the kind of engineer who enjoys getting to the root of a fault, thrives on keeping machinery running and takes pride in fixing things properly the first time, we'd like to meet you.
At Manthorpe Building Products, we're passionate about manufacturing innovative building products that are used on construction projects across the UK. Behind every product is a team of skilled engineers keeping our production lines running safely and efficiently—and we're looking for another great engineer to join us.
As part of the Genuit Group, you'll be joining a business that offers the security of a well-established company while investing in its people, its equipment and its future. We're big believers that the best ideas come from the people doing the job every day, so if you enjoy improving processes and making things work better, you'll fit right in.
So, what's the job? No two days are quite the same. One minute you'll be fault-finding an electrical issue that's brought a production line to a standstill. The next, you'll be carrying out planned maintenance, installing new equipment or working with colleagues on improvements that make the factory safer, smarter and more efficient.
You'll be the person people rely on to keep production moving—someone who enjoys solving problems, thinking on their feet and getting stuck in. This is a hands-on engineering role where your knowledge, initiative and practical skills will genuinely make a difference every single day.
What you'll be getting involved in:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on production machinery.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to keep equipment performing at its best.
- Responding quickly to breakdowns and getting production back up and running safely.
- Supporting mechanical repairs when needed as part of a multi-skilled engineering team.
- Installing new machinery and helping deliver exciting improvement projects across the site.
- Working closely with production teams to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Helping identify smarter ways of working through continuous improvement.
- Looking after engineering stores and ensuring critical spare parts are available.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and engineering excellence.
What we're looking for:
We're less interested in ticking every single box and more interested in finding someone who enjoys engineering and takes pride in doing a great job. You'll probably have experience working in a manufacturing or production environment and be confident fault-finding electrical systems. You enjoy solving problems, don't mind rolling your sleeves up and are happy working both independently and alongside a supportive team.
If you're curious, proactive and always looking for a better way of doing things, you'll fit in well here. Most importantly, you'll care about quality, safety and keeping production running.
Why join Manthorpe? Because we know engineers want more than just another maintenance job. You'll join a friendly, experienced engineering team where everyone works together, shares knowledge and supports each other. Your ideas will be listened to, your contribution recognised and you'll have opportunities to develop your skills as our business continues to grow.
Whether it's investing in new equipment, improving our manufacturing processes or developing our people, we're always looking for ways to move forward—and we'd like you to be part of that journey.
What you'll get:
- Competitive salary
- Rotating shifts: 1 Week 6:00am-2:30pm and 2 Week 2:00pm-10:00pm
- Company pension with employer contributions matched up to 8%
- Life assurance
- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
- Sharesave Scheme
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Free annual flu vaccinations
- Occupational health, physiotherapy and counselling services
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- The chance to build a long-term career with the Genuit Group
