As a Warehouse Operative at our National Distribution Centre in Rotherham, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.

You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment while delivering high standards of accuracy and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a counterbalance forklift truck safely and in accordance with site procedures and training.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound vehicles.
  • Move palletised stock to designated storage, picking and dispatch locations.
  • Complete replenishment tasks to maintain stock availability for warehouse operations.
  • Carry out routine pre-use forklift checks and promptly report defects or safety concerns.
  • Assist with goods-in, put-away, picking, packing and dispatch activities as required.
  • Scan and record stock movements accurately using warehouse systems or handheld devices.
  • Check stock for damage, discrepancies and correct labelling.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse.
  • Follow all health, safety, security and environmental procedures, including use of required PPE.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to meet productivity, quality and service targets.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Valid, in-date counterbalance forklift truck licence/certification.
  • Previous warehouse or distribution-centre experience is preferred.
  • Experience loading and unloading vehicles and handling palletised goods.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic IT or handheld scanner experience is desirable.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to follow procedures closely.
