Genuine Dining is looking for a Head Chef to lead one of our flagship London sites. We're an independent, award-winning business that takes food seriously. We buy great ingredients, back our chefs and give them the freedom to cook. No endless sign-offs, no rolling out the same menu across every site.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a chef who enjoys variety. The food offer includes daily-changing street food counters, hospitality, events and plenty of opportunities to try new ideas. The guests are engaged, they care about food and they're not shy about telling you what they love. It's a site where chefs can have some fun and really make an impact.
The Role
You'll run the kitchen day to day, leading a strong team and making sure every service is something to be proud of. Lunch is busy and varied, with different food concepts running throughout the week. Alongside that, there's a hospitality offer ranging from informal meetings to launches and larger events.
We're looking for someone who enjoys coming up with new dishes, keeps an eye on what's happening in the food world and wants to build a food offer that people talk about. You'll have plenty of support around you, but this is your kitchen and we want someone who'll make it their own.
What You'll Need
- Experience as a Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready for the next step
- A genuine love of food
- Strong leadership skills and a calm head during service
- Experience with fresh food and menu development
- High standards when it comes to food quality, food safety and organisation
- A positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in
Why Genuine Dining?
You'll be joining a young, ambitious business with a real community of chefs behind it. Our chef team share ideas, work together on projects, visit suppliers, take part in workshops and spend time learning from each other. Whether it's butchery, fermentation, sustainability, street food, bakery or leadership training, we invest heavily in development because better chefs create better food.
You'll have access to great ingredients, support from some seriously talented people and the freedom to put your own stamp on what you do. Most importantly, you'll be surrounded by people who genuinely care about food.
The Hours
This is primarily a Monday to Friday daytime role. Every now and then there'll be an evening event, launch or special function where you'll want to be there with the team, but this isn't a late-night operation and you'll have a life outside work.
If you're a chef who's fed up cooking the same menu every week and wants a role where you can be creative, develop your team and cook food you're proud of, we'd love to hear from you.
