Role Overview
This opportunity for an Intermediate Java Developer at Gentrack will allow you to continue to develop your Java skillset in an energising and supportive environment. You will join an Agile scrum team working on an industry leading, cloud-based utilities platform. Key Responsibilities
- Support initiatives run by the GSTF and demonstrate our company values by providing a clear commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
- Contribute through identifying/proposing local sustainable practices and ideas in accordance with our Sustainability Charter.
- Utilise our sustainability app by taking part in challenges and improving behaviours to be more sustainable.
- Develop and maintain software as part of a self‑organising, multi disciplined scrum team.
- Follow, and continuously improve, established engineering practices as part of a tier 1 delivery organisation.
- Ensure a focus on quality through code reviews, development testing, and maintaining our automated test suite.
- Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, refinement, planning, and retrospectives.
- Continually grow within your role through personal training and development.
- Guide and support more junior team members.
- Provide a link between technical and non‑technical stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Recognise gaps in our product and ways of working, then propose and support improvements.
What We\'re Looking For
you don\'t need to be a guru at all, we\'re looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you.
- 3+ years commercial Java software development experience.
- Working knowledge of Agile.
- Proficiency in relevant technologies and concepts including Object‑Oriented Design, Java or .Net experience, AWS, and SQL Databases.
- Knowledge of, or a willingness to learn about, the Utilities industry.
