OpportunityAs a Technical Team Lead, you are responsible for engineering performance and delivery, coaching engineers into high‐performing teams who build and maintain it right while delivering effectively, whilst getting hands on to accelerate the teams\’ progress.

Specifics

Build and grow a high performing team within the data engineering/BI discipline.

Attract, grow and develop team members – recruit and develop high‐performing teams and individuals. Ensure all direct reports have goals, receive regular feedback and coaching to advance their careers.

Coach, mentor and support continuous improvement of your team. Facilitate team growth through an \”experiment and learn\” mindset.

Lead the software development lifecycle and operational processes for your team.

Partner with Product Management to ensure your team has a clear mission and continually delivers customer and technical value.

Lead technical input in the SDLC (planning, stand‐ups, estimation, retrospectives, backlog grooming).

Identify and document technical initiatives to improve system performance, reduce technical debt, cut costs, enhance quality and boost security. Lobby for these initiatives to be included in the roadmap.

Enable and support teams running effective and efficient operational processes.

Software development and design.

Continuously improve code quality, product and broader engineering system including tooling, processes and capability.

Contribute to initiatives and process improvements to support the wider Development group.

What We\’re Looking For

Experience leading, coaching and growing individuals and managing a high‐performing software development team in a product development context.

A growth mindset – a gardener who knows how to seed, grow and nurture people and code. A passion to help others learn.

Technical Profile

Advanced SQL knowledge (beyond CRUD) and proficiency in ETL/ELT tools and frameworks.

Awareness of source‐to‐target mapping (and documentation) with CSV, JSON, RDBMS/DW data sources.

Process automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python or other scripting languages.

Database schema migration and release management approaches.

Utilities industry experience is a bonus.
