The Opportunity
We’re hiring an Account Director to take ownership of a number of strategically important customers within our UK water portfolio. This is a step up from a traditional Account Manager role, where you will operate with a high level of autonomy and accountability across both commercial and customer outcomes. You’ll be the primary commercial owner for your accounts, responsible for revenue, renewals and growth, while building strong senior stakeholder relationships and shaping long-term account strategy. This is not a transactional sales role. You’ll work closely with delivery, pre-sales, product and finance teams in a highly collaborative, customer-embedded environment to ensure successful outcomes for both the customer and Gentrack.
The Specifics
- Own end-to-end commercial performance across your accounts, including revenue, margin, renewals and pipeline
- Develop and execute multi-year account strategies aligned to customer priorities and Gentrack growth objectives
- Build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships (Director, VP and C-suite level)
- Act as the primary commercial point of contact and escalation for customers
- Identify and drive upsell, cross-sell and expansion opportunities
- Lead renewal planning and negotiations
- Work cross-functionally to orchestrate delivery, pre-sales, product, finance and legal teams
- Ensure alignment between customer commitments and delivery capabilities
- Maintain strong CRM discipline, forecasting accuracy and performance tracking
- Prepare and lead customer governance meetings and business reviews
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to be a guru at everything; we’re looking forward to coaching and collaborating with you. You will bring:
- Proven experience in account management or customer-facing commercial roles
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience owning renewals, pricing or account growth
- Ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders (Director to C-suite level)
- Experience operating in complex customer environments with multiple stakeholders
- A structured approach to account planning and opportunity management
- Confidence leading conversations, negotiations and presentations
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
- A proactive, resilient mindset with a strong focus on delivery and outcomes
Nice to have
- Experience within SaaS, enterprise software or technology-led environments
- Exposure to utilities (water or energy)
- Experience working in integration-heavy or complex delivery environments
What we offer in return
- Personal growth - in leadership, commercial acumen and technical excellence
- The opportunity to step into a true Account Director role with full ownership and autonomy
- Exposure to senior customer stakeholders and complex, high-impact environments
- To be part of a global, winning high growth organisation - with a career path to match
- A vibrant culture full of people passionate about transformation and making a difference - with a one team, collaborative ethos
- A competitive reward package that truly rewards our top talent
- A chance to make a true impact on society and the planet
