Job Description
Empty Property Officer – Empty Homes Team (6-Month Secondment)
Are you ready to take on a new challenge and make a real impact? We are offering a 6-month opportunity to join our Empty Homes Team as an Empty Property Officer. In this role, you will play a key part in managing and delivering our void property process from inspections and complete surveys for our contractors to work from, ensuring properties meet our Lettable standard. You will help provide safe, high-quality homes while delivering excellent customer care at every step. You will be working with a supportive and collaborative team that makes a meaningful difference in our communities.
A full UK drivers licence is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out property inspections to identify required works and ensure homes meet our standards.
- Ordering materials accurately to support timely and efficient repairs.
- Conducting detailed inspections for condensation, dampness, and post-work quality checks.
- Supporting compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with colleagues across the Group to deliver a seamless service.
- Referring to specialist services when needed (e.g., building surveyors).
- Managing job orders and documentation through our internal systems.
- Coordinating utility and energy supply management.
- Identifying and managing asbestos-related risks.
- Maintaining accurate records to support audit and operational needs.
- Ensuring a high-quality, customer-focused service at all times.
What We Are Looking For
- A full UK drivers licence.
- Demonstrable experience in social housing repairs and maintenance.
- Strong organisational and IT skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities with a proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Experience in property inspections and repairs (tenanted or empty).
- A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Proven ability to meet performance targets.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, especially in empty properties.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when needed, including occasional evenings/weekends.
