Job Description:
Join us at Gentoo and play a key role in shaping the future of our services for customers, colleagues and business partners. Reporting to Gentoo's Business Analysis Manager, you'll partner across the Group to provide expert business analysis and improvement support.
You’ll bring structure, insight and curiosity to our continuous improvement activities - helping us identify opportunities, solve problems and deliver meaningful, measurable value.
What you will be doing:
- Lead and deliver a portfolio of business analysis and improvement activities across projects and business as usual work.
- Apply a range of tools and methodologies to deliver effective outcomes by:
- Defining clear problem statements with stakeholders.
- Selecting the most appropriate approaches, tools and techniques.
- Mapping, analysing and redesigning 'as is' and 'to be' processes to shape customer and business focused services.
- Creating user stories and capturing business requirements.
- Documenting all scenarios, including "happy" and "unhappy" paths.
- Facilitating cross functional discussions to gather insights and information.
- Producing clear verbal and written reports for stakeholders.
- Supporting user acceptance testing to ensure successful delivery.
- Capturing lessons learned to enhance future ways of working.
- Use data to support decision making and remain focused on the core problem.
- Collaborate across the business—including with IT, project and change teams—to deliver activity to plan.
- Maintain a strong understanding of what matters to customers, colleagues and business partners.
- Constructively challenge existing processes and ways of working, ensuring future solutions reflect best practice.
- Identify improvement opportunities aligned to our corporate strategy, enhancing customer experience, value for money and commercial benefits.
- Promote collaboration and cross Group working to support a One Gentoo approach.
- Stay current with business analysis and improvement best practices, continually evolving our methods and tools.
- Coach colleagues to strengthen business analysis awareness and capability across the Group.
What you will bring:
- Demonstrable work experience in the position of a Business Analyst within a highly regulated environment, ideally in Housing; however, other regulated sectors will be considered.
- Broad understanding of business improvement and analysis methodologies.
- Proven ability to map end to end 'as is' and 'to be' processes for technical and non-technical change.
- Practical experience with business analysis and improvement tools and frameworks, including:
- Lean Six Sigma
- Prince2
- Data analysis tools (Excel, Qlik, Tableau)
- ITIL
It would be great if you had the following:
- Experience in the housing or public sector, large scale digital transformation, and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Skills in ITIL and familiarity with Agile/Scrum and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Exposure to change management frameworks such as Prosci.
- Understanding of data warehousing and data architecture principles.
- Qualifications in Lean/Six Sigma and Business Analysis.
