Gensler’s London office is seeking a commercially minded, strategically rigorous, and forward-thinking individual to join our team as an experienced Marketing Specialist. Marketing Specialists are strategic partners who shape how we position and win work. They influence opportunity definition, framing, and win strategy — not simply the production of bids. They partner with leaders to support winning new work by applying market intelligence, research, and analytics to strengthen our positioning, storytelling, visual communications, and campaigns. Working closely with office leadership and senior staff, they develop proposals, presentations, and thought leadership that advance pursuit strategy and strengthen competitive positioning. The role also contributes to broader marketing studio initiatives, events, knowledge management, analytics, selected campaigns, and operational improvements.
Your Role
We are looking for an experienced marketer with a proven background in strategic positioning who can guide teams through detailed pursuit processes with a proactive, progressive approach, while also supporting leaders with campaign initiatives and broader positioning ideas. You will join a team of experienced marketers who operate as strategic advisors to studio leadership and technical teams. Strong communicators and strategic thinkers, with advanced graphic and visual communication capability, will thrive in an environment that values thoughtful work and professional growth. Strong candidates will demonstrate the ability to elevate a traditional bid function into a strategic partnership model. While pursuits and proposals are a primary responsibility of this role, we are looking for someone who sees them as platforms for strategic positioning — not standalone deliverables.
What You Will Do
- Align with key Practice Areas to proactively plan and execute marketing initiatives, events, and targeted market intelligence / research in support of defined business objectives
- Champion and lead strategy and planning sessions for new business opportunities and market positioning
- Take ownership of pursuit positioning from early qualification through submission, in collaboration with technical teams and studio leadership
- Translate market intelligence and business drivers into clear win themes
- Challenge and refine pursuit positioning to ensure differentiation
- Identify patterns across pursuits to improve future win strategy
- Partner with principals, senior staff, and marketing colleagues to develop proposals, presentations, and marketing collateral aligned with brand standards
- Develop strategic campaign and pursuit materials that elevate positioning and differentiation
- Manage multiple concurrent pursuits with clarity, prioritisation, and composure under deadline pressure
- Contribute to evolving how we work by integrating AI and automation into pursuit strategy, content development, and knowledge management
- Apply commercial awareness and client insight to strengthen pursuit strategy and messaging
- Learn and understand Gensler’s portfolio of work, practice areas, and capabilities
- Maintain marketing collateral, resources, and information systems
- Collaborate with marketing colleagues to deliver special projects and elevate overall quality
Your Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in a marketing position with a design or professional services firm, prior experience in the AEC industry is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Architecture, Interior Design, Journalism, or Business
- Ability to lead BD conversations confidently and strategically and collaborate closely with leadership on win strategy and storytelling
- Demonstrated success improving win rates and pursuit quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong graphic design capability, including development of high-impact presentations and marketing collateral
- Aptitude to connect individual pursuits to broader studio, sector, and regional growth priorities
- Comfort operating at both tactical and strategic levels
- Demonstrated sound judgement and confidence advising senior stakeholders
- Curiosity and openness toward AI, automation, and emerging tools that improve marketing effectiveness
- Self-motivator with strong organisational and intra-personal skills, and a great collaborator
- Strong organisational skills to coordinate and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to work with diverse project teams and in a fast-paced work environment
- Mastery of InDesign is a must
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator is required, knowledge of Figma and Miro are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud is required
Please submit a cover letter, resume, and portfolio. The cover letter should address the key characteristics outlined above and clearly articulate why your experience is suited to this role.
