Gensler's London office is seeking a FF&E Interior Designer to join our team of design thinkers and doers who specialise in helping to tell our story and bring it to life. You will be experienced in interpreting the design brief, with an excellent eye for detail, current trends, and the ability to understand and interpret client needs and requirements. A selfâmotivated team player with a positive, communicative and collaborative approach, our Interior Designers work in partnership with colleagues across Gensler's practice areas, as well as with vendors and stakeholders at all levels. You will have the knowledge and ability to provide guidance to less experienced members of the Interiors Team, advising and supporting where necessary.
This role covers all stages of Interior Design. You should be passionate about conceptual design, developing the best details to realise the creative potential for each project and value attention to detail and good construction techniques. Our designers work collaboratively and enthusiastically with the design and technical team to develop the designs. We look for designers that have a selfâstarting, motivated approach and will enjoy learning new ways of working. You will also engage with our company standards and deliver drawing packages for Interior Design projects for workplace interior projects.
- Project manage the selection of colour, appropriate materials and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) for projects in coordination with other team members to meet client's expectations.
- Coordinate vendors, suppliers and manage the specification process.
- Outstanding knowledge of the local markets for sourcing materials.
- Involvement in all phases of the design process including feasibility, concept design, schematic design, design development and construction documents.
- Development of threeâdimensional or spatial design with the team.
- Development of design planning, conceptual sketches and design support for completion/execution of design concepts.
- Implementation of approved concept through preparation of design presentation documents, drawings and schedules to meet project deadlines.
- Performance in a designer capacity for bespoke items or for designated areas.
- Preparation of finished drawings from sketches, notes, layouts, details and verbal instructions under minimal supervision.
Your Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience as an FF&E Interior Designer, colour and material specification and development.
- A strong working knowledge of Revit is essential, as well as Sketch-up, Adobe Suite and project information databases.
- A working knowledge of project information databases and specification writing.
- Additional 3D modelling programs and good handâsketching skills would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable presentation and client relations skills.
- Bachelors' Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited school.
- Excellent graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
- Excellent collaboration skills, good selfâorganisation and strong ability to work in a team environment.
- Proven professional experience essential.
