As a Gensler Senior Interior Designer in our Lifestyle practice areas, your job is to combine creativity and technical skills with a thorough understanding of the design to produce highly creative, environmentally conscious and budget responsive spaces for clients. You should have exceptional conceptual design skills, a background in hospitality design or interior architecture and a portfolio of innovative design concepts.
What You Will Do- Lead interior design assignments across F&B, hospitality, and lounge projects, including concept design, space planning, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Provide creative and strategically minded design leadership, supporting the organisation, production, and execution of projects from concept through delivery.
- Collaborate seamlessly with internal and external teams, including consultants, contractors, fabricators, and specialist partners, to achieve design, programme, and budget objectives.
- Lead and participate in design development and iteration, producing 3D models and visualisations using Revit, SketchUp, Enscape (or similar).
- Generate and review interior architectural drawings, driving technical resolution and detailing, ensuring design intent is clearly communicated and buildable.
- Work closely with product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to realise design, brand, and budget goals.
- Act as a client-facing design lead, supporting presentations, managing feedback, and helping to build and sustain strong client relationships within the hospitality and F&B sector.
- Guide and mentor teams, supporting multiple projects at a high level while fostering a collaborative studio environment.
- Contribute to business development efforts, supporting the growth of the studio’s F&B and hospitality portfolio.
- Actively participate in office culture, initiatives, and learning programmes, promoting design excellence and an interdisciplinary approach across the studio.
- Highly creative interior designer with 8-10+ years' experience delivering F&B, hospitality, or lounge projects from concept through delivery.
- Retail design experience would also be beneficial.
- Confident hands-on designer, actively creating, detailing, and driving projects while mentoring the team.
- Proven ability to run complex projects end-to-end, managing design, programme, budget, and stakeholders.
- Ability to craft memorable, brand-aligned interior environments that combine atmosphere, materiality, and spatial storytelling across diverse hospitality and F&B projects.
- Strong sector insight in F&B and hospitality, with a clear personal point of view and the ability to translate it into distinctive, commercially relevant designs.
- High proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Suite, ensuring efficient, high-quality project outputs.
- Strong technical and detailing capability, producing buildable, well-resolved interiors.
- Credible client lead with strong presentation skills, stakeholder management, and existing or developing F&B/hospitality contacts.
- Demonstrated appetite for business development, including growing client accounts and expanding the studio’s F&B portfolio.
- Trusted to represent the studio externally while remaining deeply involved in project delivery.
