Gensler London is seeking a visionary Brand Director with exceptional design skills and a portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions, particularly in brand design. You will collaborate with talented colleagues to enhance Gensler’s culture for design excellence, elevate the quality of design, and achieve recognition for our clients and the firm. In your role within the Europe Region’s Brand Studio/team and practice, you will steer the strategic direction. This involves working across the London office, Europe Region, and the firm, integrating brand experience strategies into diverse project types and across multiple practice areas to grow opportunities. Through understanding of customer requirements, your design experience will help to define the vision for design concepts. What You Will Do
- Lead the creative direction for specific project engagements, leading multiple design teams on projects from the initial stages through construction and installation.
- Responsible for the inspiration and brand design direction for projects.
- Develop and own overall design concepts, storytelling, and design presentation strategies.
- Assist and contribute to scope and process definition and staffing strategy for proposals.
- Be a fearless integrator and advocate for diverse points of view and expansive thinking leading the strategic direction of the practice area in the regional market.
- Drive alignment in our designs with both ours and our clients’ sustainability goals.
- Build and sustain client relationships, act as the primary design interface with clients, team members, and a wide range of consultants and collaborators, both internal and external.
- Creatively align solutions to budgets.
- Mentor and develop Gensler designers; provide creative direction to design teams.
- Responsible for the oversight and creative direction for multiple project teams.
- Participate in business development and marketing efforts on practice messaging and go-to market collateral.
- Identify talent and talent gaps within the team to mentor future leaders, retain existing staff, and recruit new talent.
- Interaction with clients while representing Gensler at meetings and presentations.
- Be a voice in our Community for the Power of Design.
- Monitor internal processes for efficiency and validity pre and post project launch/changes.
- Provide support for other departmental projects as needed.
- Analytical – Comfortable working with large sets of data, able to work with analytics tools to drive business and project specific insights.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design or architecture.
- 15+ years of diverse design experience, including experience in a leadership role.
- Has held a position of authority for the creative direction of projects.
- A recognized leader or authority in brand design.
- Entrepreneurial and result-oriented mindset.
- Strong sense of urgency and ownership.
- Experience leading design teams through all phases of the design process.
- Ability to write and deliver training courses and materials.
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Understanding proficiency in design software programs (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator), with proficiency in PowerPoint, Miro, and sketching.
