Genpower Fulfilment Ltd are seeking a motivated and reliable Warehouse Team Leader to join our busy distribution centre in Newport. Our site is a brand-new, modern 100,000 sqft facility with a 16,000-pallet capacity and 10 loading docks. We have a close-knit team who work collaboratively to support the full operation. Reporting to the Operations Managers, you will take day-to-day responsibility for supervising an assigned area within the warehouse such as Goods In, Picking & Dispatch, or 3PL fulfilment, while also being trained and supported to work flexibly across all areas as required.
Initially, the role will focus on supporting our Goods In operation, including the receiving and offloading of containers, coordinating deliveries and leading the team to ensure stock is processed efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on leadership role, where you will work alongside your team on the warehouse floor while ensuring accuracy, safety and efficiency across daily operations. You will lead by example, supporting warehouse operatives, monitoring performance and maintaining a smooth workflow in line with company procedures and service standards.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day operations within your assigned area to achieve performance and accuracy targets.
- Supervise the safe and efficient unloading of containers and inbound deliveries within the Goods In area.
- Allocate work, monitor progress and support team members to meet deadlines.
- Ensure all goods are received, stored, picked and dispatched correctly and on time.
- Maintain accurate stock levels through regular checks and system updates.
- Liaise with Operations Managers and internal teams to resolve any issues quickly.
- Promote and maintain high standards of Health & Safety and housekeeping.
- Support training, cross-skilling and ongoing team development.
- Identify and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, ideally in a team leader or senior operative role.
- Good understanding of warehouse processes including goods in/out, stock management and dispatch.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills with good attention to detail.
- Confident communicator and team motivator.
- IT literate (experience using WMS or ERP systems).
- FLT licence advantageous but not essential.
