About Genpower

We are the exclusive UK and Ireland distributor for Hyundai Power Products and a global distributor for JCB Tools and power products. Alongside these leading brands, our portfolio includes P1 Power Equipment, Evopower, Gardentek and BE Pressure.

Established as a family-run business in 2006, we have grown into a leading distributor within the power equipment sector. We operate from our headquarters in Pembroke Dock and our 100,000 sq ft distribution centre in Newport, supporting customers across the UK and internationally.

Having surpassed £50m in turnover, we are continuing our ambitious growth journey towards £100m. We supply an extensive approved dealer network while also reaching consumers directly through our own Shopify stores, Amazon, eBay and other leading marketplaces.

About the role:

We are seeking a detail oriented Graphic Designer to own the end-to-end artwork production for our brand packaging and technical documentation. In this role, you will bring our multi-brand portfolio to life across every touchpoint – from carton artwork, labels and machine markings to clear, user-friendly instruction manuals. Using AI and translation tools, you will ensure all the finished product is accurate, clear and ready to print.

Key responsibilities:

Packaging artwork

  • Design carton artwork (outer and inner boxes), labels, stickers and machine markings in line with Hyundai, JCB and Genpower brand guidelines.
  • Produce print-ready artwork files and work with factories and suppliers to sign off proofs.
  • Ensure packaging carries the right recycling symbols, safety icons, legal disclamers and COSHH information where needed. (Supported by our Compliance Manager)

Instruction manuals and inserts

  • Lay out step-by-step user guides, quick-start inserts, safety warnings and technical diagrams in InDesign.
  • Use AI tools to draft and translate manual text, then check, edit and format it so it is accurate, plain and unambiguous.
  • Conduct peer proofing, before publishing, with our global partners.
  • Manage multi-language versions using translation software (Redokun).
  • Help move our manuals to a picture-led format with multi-language text after the pictograms.
  • Include the correct Declaration of Conformity details in each manual, using the certification held by the Compliance Manager.

Review and sign-off

  • Run every manual through peer review with the technical, health and safety, and compliance teams before it goes to a factory.
  • Keep version control and artwork records up to date in NetSuite and Asana.

Working with others

  • Work with Product, Marketing, Compliance, Sales and suppliers so product assets are ready in time for new product launches and promotions.
  • Cover packaging and label work when the other packaging designer is away, and the other way round.

Skills, experience and qualifications

  • At least 1 year’s experience as a graphic designer
  • Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator (packaging mechanicals), InDesign (multi-page manuals) and Photoshop.
  • Able to turn technical information into clear, simple instructions and diagrams.
  • Close attention to detail, and comfortable checking AI-generated text for accuracy.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Able to manage several product projects at once and meet launch deadlines.
  • A degree or qualification in graphic or packaging design.
  • A portfolio that shows packaging, print or multi-page document work.
  • Experience with power tools, consumer electronics, automotive, hardware or industrial machinery.
  • Some knowledge of product safety labelling, hazard symbols or CE/UKCA marking.
  • Technical writing or manual layout experience.

Working arrangements

This is a hybrid role. You will need to work from either our Newport (Gwent) or Pembroke Dock office 2-3 times a week when needed, for example for sample checks, product reviews and team meetings.

We are committed to providing an inclusive recruitment process. If you require any adjustments during the application or interview process, please let us know and we will work with you to support your needs.
