Gen Phoenix is making material circularity possible at epic scale – rescuing over 10,000 tonnes of leather waste and creating premium sustainable materials trusted by global brands like Coach, Dr. Martens, and Daimler. Now we need a passionate leather technologist to help us push the boundaries of what\’s possible.
Your innovation playground:
- Develop cutting-edge tanning recipes to improve product performance in our lab and pilot plant
- Lead new product development projects for consumer markets from concept to full-scale manufacture
- Apply your wet end leather chemistry and finishing expertise to groundbreaking sustainable materials
- Work hands-on with formulation and application testing at the forefront of leather technology
- Collaborate with global brands on next-generation sustainable leather solutions
- Transfer innovative materials and processes into commercial production
You bring:
- 2–3 years’ experience in a tannery or with a leather chemical supplier
- Strong knowledge of wet end leather chemicals, processes, and/or leather coatings and finishes
- Bachelor\’s degree in Leather Technology, Materials Science, Textile Chemistry, or related field
- Familiarity with leather testing standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Project management abilities and collaborative mindset
- Experience with luxury leather goods or footwear (desirable)
Location: Peterborough, PE7 3HH, UK
Travel: Approximately 10% of working time
