Job Description – Domain Trainee – London Market Underwriting! (INS028687)
Inviting applications for the role of Domain Trainee / Management Trainee – London Market Underwriting.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading teams and managing service level targets for the P&C Insurance Business. You will facilitate goal creation aligned with business objectives, work with managers to cascade goals to all associates, guide talent identification and development, and focus on business challenges using analytics and technology.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of Market Reform Contract (Slip), its sections, and details such as written line, Sign Line, etc., including carrier-generated policy documentation.
- Exposure to London Market, including Company and Bureau markets, is preferable.
- Lead teams and manage service level targets, providing mentorship to direct reports including Domain Experts and Assistant Managers.
- Monitor, analyze, and report trends in key underwriting performance drivers.
- Lead discussions on operations with UK partners on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.
- Understand risks faced by the function and the controls in place to mitigate these risks.
- Ensure clarity around priorities and goals across the functional area.
- Work effectively in a team environment, exercising good judgment.
- Collaborate with senior management for strategy development and execution planning.
- Approve hiring and redeployment requests within the group.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate in any stream except Technical.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the underwriting lifecycle.
- Demonstrate customer focus, partnership, accountability, initiative, and innovation.
Preferred Qualifications / Skills
- Certification such as CII (ALMI, FIT, Cert CII), AINS, CPCU, or equivalent.
- Ability to think strategically and operationally in the long term.
- High customer service orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and understanding of UK insurance underwriting, claims cycle, and Lloyd’s market.
- Strong statistical knowledge.
- Motivated and achievement-oriented.
