Inviting applications for the role of Manager, Operations Data Governance Consultant! In this role, Operations Data Governance are responsible for implementation of the Firm's Global Data Quality Policy to the Division's most Critical Data, ensuring compliance to a high standard. This is achieved by partnering with colleagues across Operations and across Divisions to document the data traceability and data quality control framework.
This position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to a successful data governance program to meet data quality, data usage, security and risk management requirements, in line with the governance strategy of the Business. This position is specifically to meet delivery requirements of a Firmwide Program relating to BCBS239 regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholder groups across Operations, Finance, Firm Risk Management (FRM), Institutional Securities Group (ISG), Legal and Compliance (LCD), Global Financial Crimes (GFC), Wealth Management (WM), Investment Management (IM) and Technology.
The multi-faceted and dynamic role requires the candidate to understand and analyse data flows from authoritative source to consumer. The individual will be required to document policy standards in the Firmwide Data Catalogue as part of Prioritised Data Initiatives (PDIs). We are looking for a candidate who is driven to provide consistently high standards, keen to identify and resolve issues, will challenge existing processes and controls whilst working with cross functional teams to implement Operations Data Governance strategy.
Responsibilities- Support and drive implementation of data projects relating to BCBS239 Regulations (Data Policy Implementation / Data Lineage) through application of Policy principles and guidance.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Data Policy standards and requirements and use this to influence stakeholders.
- Support any Firm-wide data transformation initiatives such as BCBS239 on behalf of Operations.
- Work closely with key Operations stakeholders across the Business to ensure compliance with data policies.
- Build expertise in Collibra and cataloguing Data requirements.
- Identify enhancements/process improvements, related to project work as required.
- Liaise with other Divisional Data Offices to ensure deadlines and requirements are addressed in a timely manner, escalating issues where necessary.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships across all stakeholder groups, within Operations, across Divisions and Business Units, Technology and Legal and Compliance.
- Understand and progress Data Issue Management strategy as it relates to the Project.
- Maintain and develop regulatory and functional business knowledge to serve as a subject matter expert and central point of contact for Operations on Data Quality matters relating to the Project.
- Data Management and Lineage expertise.
- Clear and effective communication, interpersonal skills and analysis. Some business knowledge of financial products is needed, which can be developed, however good communication skills, analysis skills and time management are essential.
- Good organization and project management skills as the role involves leading data projects and communicating to a wide range of stakeholders at various levels of the Firm.
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills, ability to influence change within the division and across a large stakeholder group including business units.
- Team ethos, who works well face to face and remotely. The sharing of information is key to the success of the team.
- Proactive learning and desire to develop in the specialized role. The candidate will be motivated, self-driven and excited by an operational role with changing priorities and objectives often with tight deadlines.
