Mission: Why We Exist
Genomics is a science‑led transatlantic TechBio combining large‑scale genetic and health data with proprietary analytics to accelerate drug discovery and advance predictive, preventative healthcare. We are united by a single vision to help people live longer, healthier lives, using the power of genomics.
Location: Oxford or London (Hybrid)
Role Purpose
As our Senior Product Designer, you'll play a meaningful role in how cutting‑edge science reaches the people who need it most. Working on Mystra, our SaaS platform, you'll translate complex genomic workflows into experiences that feel intuitive for the statistical geneticists and bioinformaticians who rely on them every day. This is a rare opportunity to do design work that genuinely matters – where a well‑crafted interaction could shape a drug discovery decision or a patient's care pathway.
A Day in the Life
- Product Definition: You'll collaborate closely with Product to turn high‑level priorities into clear, actionable user stories – bringing the kind of thoughtful detail that helps engineering teams do their best work.
- UX Architecture: Whether you're mapping a complex user flow for a statistical geneticist, making sense of a dense API response, or validating an IA with real users, you'll bring clarity to genuinely difficult problems.
- AI Interface Design: You'll design interaction patterns for LLM‑integrated features – thinking carefully and empathetically about how scientists prompt, iterate, and trust AI‑generated outputs in high‑stakes workflows.
- UI Execution: From high‑fidelity Figma prototypes to direct front‑end contributions using AI‑assisted coding tools, you'll see your work all the way through to production.
Who You Are
You care deeply about the people using the products you design – in this case, scientists doing work that could change lives. You're comfortable across the full design spectrum, from research synthesis and IA through to UI design and front‑end implementation. You have a thoughtful understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations, and design for uncertainty and error states with empathy and rigour. You think in systems, not screens – building scalable, reusable components that make the whole product stronger. You're technically literate and curious: API‑first architectures and specialised data structures inform your thinking rather than hold you back. You're self‑directed and take quiet pride in owning your work from brief to delivery.
