The Mission: Why We Exist

Genomics is a science-led transatlantic TechBio combining large-scale genetic and health data with proprietary analytics to accelerate drug discovery and advance predictive, preventative healthcare. We are united by a single vision to help people live longer, healthier lives, using the power of genomics.

Genomics aims to help people live longer, healthier lives in two ways: super-charging drug discovery and development for novel treatments with our AI-enabled advanced genetic analytics platform, and by helping people understand their personal risk of common chronic diseases through polygenic risk scores - giving doctors and health systems the chance to get the right people into the right prevention, screening and treatment programmes at the right time.

The Role

We're looking for a Product Owner to help shape and run our healthcare product delivery team's backlog - turning discovery and strategic intent into clear, well-specified, buildable work. This is hands-on and delivery-focused. You'll keep the backlog refined and build-ready, write the user stories and acceptance criteria the team works from, and help maintain the requirements board that delivery depends on - across a cross-functional team of Engineering, Science, Lab, Medical, Regulatory, Quality and Design. You'll deliver reliably and independently on well-defined work, growing your judgement on prioritisation and scope with support from senior product and delivery colleagues, and you'll take the initiative to spot improvements and raise risks as you go.

Because we build software as a medical device, the work has to be evidenced, controlled and safe to the standard the product's classification demands. You don't need to know it all on day one - but you'll be keen to build that regulatory know-how fast.

What you'll do

  • Keep the backlog refined and build-ready so the team always has clear, well-specified work to pull from.
  • Write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, working with each function to capture what they need.
  • Help maintain the requirements board, keeping cross-functional and regulatory requirements current and traceable with support from the wider team.
  • Review delivered work against acceptance criteria and the definition of done, seeking input on the calls that aren't clear-cut.
  • Contribute to discovery as a delivery voice, flagging build, regulatory and evidence implications early.
  • Spot risk during refinement and route it to the right owner so nothing slips through.

What you'll bring

  • Some experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst or similar delivery role - one that has touched regulated software within a medical environment (medical device, IVD or SaMD a real plus).
  • You will also build your knowledge of standards like IEC 62304 and ISO 13485 and how they shape what gets built.
  • Solid on writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and comfortable gathering requirements from technical and non-technical colleagues alike.
  • A scientific background, or an understanding of technical scientific products.
  • Reliable and organised, with sound judgement about when to make the call and when to seek input.
  • Clear, consistent communication - you explain things so others can act on them, and keep people informed and aligned.

We are committed to providing a transparent, supportive, and rewarding work environment.

  • Compensation & Growth
  • Competitive Reward: Salaries are externally benchmarked annually to ensure market-aligned compensation.
  • Clear Career Path: A straightforward, open progression framework means you'll always know the path to promotion and how to achieve your next career goal.
  • Continuous Learning: Including external courses and a wide library of L&D materials, because your growth is our success.

Wellbeing & Time Off

  • Holiday: 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus an extra 3-day company-wide shutdown at year-end.
  • Financial & Health Security: Robust benefits including a market-leading pension scheme, comprehensive private health insurance for you and your family with NO excess, critical illness, and life assurance.
