About the Role
As a Senior Data Manager, you will lead Data Management across our clinical and research domains.
You will work closely with engineers, analysts, researchers and stakeholders to bring consistency to data handling, improve data quality and solve challenges posed by complex clinical and research datasets at scale.
Your work will influence organisational strategy while remaining actively involved in delivery, helping teams make better use of data with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Lead data management across clinical and research domains, ensuring data is accurate, trusted and fit for purpose.
- Develop and embed data management standards, governance and best practices across the organisation.
- Lead data quality initiatives that deliver measurable improvements for the teams using our data.
- Work alongside engineering, product and research teams to solve complex data challenges and improve the way data is managed.
- Help shape our Genomic Research Dataset capability, including processes, tooling and governance needed to curate complex research datasets at scale.
- Work with research partners and internal teams to improve the quality, consistency and usability of incoming datasets.
- Support the development of metadata, reference data and data catalogues that improve discoverability and consistency.
- Shape data management strategy while remaining actively involved in delivery.
- Ensure data management activities align with governance, regulatory and ethical requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in data management practices across the organisation.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in Data Management, Data Governance or a similar senior leadership role.
- Strong understanding of data management principles and frameworks such as DAMA DMBOK.
- Experience establishing or improving data governance and data quality practices.
- Experience working with complex, highly regulated or sensitive datasets.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery.

- Experience working within healthcare, genomics, life sciences or research.
- Knowledge of clinical datasets, healthcare information standards or medical terminology.
- Solid experience working with modern data platforms across both on‑premises and cloud environments, ideally AWS.
- Exposure to enterprise data modelling or metadata management.
