Company Description Genomics England partners with the NHS to provide whole genome sequencing diagnostics. We also equip researchers to find the causes of disease and develop new treatments – with patients and participants at the heart of it all. Job Description We are seeking a Clinical Bioinformatician who will support our efforts in connecting bioinformatics, product development and clinical users together in collaboration. This will involve different contributions and impact; ranging from subject matter expertise and exploratory data analysis to software testing and documentation preparation tailored to clinical users. Please note this role is based on a 12 month fixed term contract. Everyday responsibilities include: Analysing and understanding diverse data sets, such as those needed for testing software products for clinical users. Support the implementation of requirement analysis and end user-oriented tests Write high quality documentation tailored to end users. Prepare and provide training activities for clinical users and researchers. Skills and Experience for Success We anticipate the ideal candidate will have: Experience in clinical research or health care in either cancer or rare diseases Proven track record in analysing large-scale genomic data using cutting-edge bioinformatics tools and reference databases. Strong background in human genetics and be proficient in Python and / or R for data analysis, including data wrangling and visualization. Qualifications MSc. degree or equivalent practical experience in academic or commercial settings Additional Information Salary from £48,500.
