Role Description
They say the early bird catches the worm, we need someone ready to dive in with full commitment to build this into a thriving team. You will start by leveraging your existing senior relationships in the construction sector to introduce our services and generate profit quickly. That profit will fund hiring your first team member to create an A-player squad, with plans to scale and replicate. This is a full-time, entrepreneurial role where you will hit the phones, network across construction sites, present to senior board level directors, attend networking sporting events, and occasionally stay over for late nights after a few drinks. Confidence, a proven sales track record in construction, and solid industry connections are a must.
Personal Characteristics
- High Energy
- High Integrity
- A great deal of Intelligence, especially emotional intelligence
Your Personal Style
The people that you work with are well aware of your excellent organisational qualities and commercial awareness. You always work to see ideas and systems translated into realities. Your easy-going exterior masks a rather more compulsive and determined interior. Your interest, enthusiasm and energy levels are very high. You will always dismiss negatives, being eager to accomplish any task. You always keep in touch with your emotions, standing outside of them whenever necessary rather than allowing them to take over, which helps you to stay more fully in control of any situation. Driven to achieve competence in all that you do, you can spot the flaws that may/do exist in most situations and quickly see how to easily improve them. You have an urge for lifelong learning and can always shake off depression by simply finding new projects that fascinate you. You possess a natural gift for presentation. You are a direct, results-oriented person who considers people within the framework of your objectives. Your enthusiasm for what you do can be so compelling that you may be oblivious to any time and energy limitations, sometimes ignoring your own and others' needs in the process. You need excitement and variety or you may lose interest in carrying projects through to completion. You are seen by others as pragmatic, dependable and always able to get things done. By slowing down occasionally you are more able to gather relevant data and consider both the practical and personal ramifications of your actions. You seek the attainment of personal success and status, and in this constant striving you may almost unwittingly compare yourself with others in the race for success. You strive to make things better at all times rather than simply accepting them as they are. You are aggressive, competitive, ambitious and seek to win. You prefer to be direct, results oriented and thorough, whilst not always taking time to give real consideration to others. You are gifted with clarity of thought and articulation, which is rare, you are an excellent communicator and presenter. You are good at getting things done in an assertive way. You may increase your effectiveness by allowing yourself to seek and take assistance from others. You need work that makes use of your strongly creative drive. You often push others as hard as you push yourself and tend to be a challenging adversary. You may in reality be less competent at a specific task than your confident style indicates. You prefer to combine creative decision making with limited reflection. You are a pragmatic individual who can be as tough as the situation warrants. You are motivated more by the big picture and goals than by regulations and procedures, and are content with established structures only if you can abandon them when they don’t serve the intended purpose.
Decision Making Norms
Politically aware, you are normally comfortable with your decisions even in the face of possible conflict with others in more senior positions. You will tend to be concerned with the effect that the decision making process, and its result, will have on others. In decision-making you may prefer to apologise for exceeding your authority rather than getting permission in the first place. You are seen by many as a natural leader and decision maker. You value truth above all else and are primarily convinced by logical reasoning. You have a tendency to think “out loud” enabling others to follow your line of thinking. Internally motivated to achieve, you are a hard worker, who whilst being prepared to listen to, and be aware of others, will invariably go it alone if all else fails. You like to convert everything into possibilities, ideas, plans and schemes and your initiative and imagination leads you to start many new projects. You can usually get to the heart of any situation and implement an effective solution. You tend to be influenced by the idea, rather than the people behind the idea. You are self-reliant and are not frightened to take “the path of maximum resistance” in your efforts to produce the best results. Your effectiveness depends on how much personal fulfilment you receive from the current task. If something does not seem rational, you run the risk of dismissing it out of hand, even if it is a critical issue. “Do it now” is your motto. Impatient with what you may see as inefficiency and incompetence, you can take tough decisions when the situation calls for it.
