The Finance Systems Manager leads a small team responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning within the Global Finance group. The role reports to the Group Finance Director and is accountable for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of these systems, working closely with IT to meet business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning in a well‑controlled and documented system environment
- Lead the Finance Systems team, motivating members and encouraging their development
- Provide technical assistance for core financial processes
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships with key members of the Finance team and other global stakeholders
- Hold regular meetings with key stakeholders
- Stay on top of Workday updates
- Advise on system enhancements for Finance and the Business
- Run pilots for new functionality/system changes utilizing Finance team members for key roles in the pilots
- Optimize processes to achieve measurable outcomes
- Roll out ways of working that facilitate user self‑service
- Ensure system changes are communicated to users in a timely manner
- Develop a training strategy for users
- Oversee relationships with third‑party providers involved in Workday support
Qualifications
- Workday Financials Certified
- Fully qualified accountant
- Experience leading teams in a global context
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Evidence of achieving best‑practice outcomes using Workday
- A continuous improvement ethos
- Experience in a US listed environment useful, with a working knowledge of SOX control
