Learn more atgeniussports.comThe Role – Software Engineer IIWe’re looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team and contribute to building reliable, scalable, and user-focused software. In this role, you’ll work independently on well-defined features, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and help improve the quality and maintainability of our systems. You’ll play an active role in delivering value to users while continuing to grow your technical and collaborative skills.Key Responsibilities: Design, build, test, and maintain small to medium-sized systems or features with a focus on quality, reliability and user impactWork with product managers, designers and engineers to understand requirements and turn them into practical technical solutionsCommunicate clearly about progress, assumptions, blockers and technical trade-offsContribute to technical design discussions and reviewsWrite clear, maintainable and well-tested code that follows team standardsWork within established architecture patterns while identifying sensible improvements to existing systemsDebug and resolve issues across the stack, investigating root causes and seeking support when neededParticipate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating feedback into your own workIdentify opportunities to improve code quality, performance, and team development practicesUse modern development tools, including AI-assisted tools, while remaining accountable for reviewing and validating the resultQualifications: Experience developing software and maintaining software in a professional or comparable environmentProficiency in at least one programming language and familiarity with modern development frameworks and toolsUnderstanding of software development fundamentals (e.g., data structures, APIs, testing, version control)Ability to work independently on defined tasks while seeking input when neededComfortable collaborating with cross-functional teammates and incorporating feedbackProblem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and iteratePreferred Qualifications: Experience contributing to technical designs and documenting technical decisionsExperience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures and workflow orchestrationExperience using AI-assisted tools to improve coding, debugging, documentation and testing workflowsPractical experience in debugging production issues and improving system performanceExposure to working in agile or iterative development environmentsExperience writing automated tests and working with CI/CD pipelinesInterest in sharing knowledge and supporting teammatesExperience with technologies used in our current stack (Rust, Kotlin, Spring Boot, TypeScript, NextJS, PostgreSQL, Pulsar, Temporal and Kubernetes)What’s in it for you?Our benefits include health insurance, skills training and much more, depending on the location.
