Role Overview
Genius is a fast-growing challenger brand, redefining the gluten-free category with high-quality bakery products that genuinely improve everyday life for the gluten free community. We operate at pace, with a strong focus on commercial performance, execution excellence, and building long-term retailer partnerships. As we continue to scale, we're investing in high-potential talent who want to take ownership early and play a direct role in how we win with major UK grocery customers.
This role sits at the heart of our commercial team — combining customer leadership, data-driven decision making, and hands-on execution to drive growth across key retail accounts. We're looking for a commercially sharp, high-potential & highly driven National Account Manager to take ownership of key grocery accounts and help drive the next phase of growth at Genius.
This role is designed for someone who wants real responsibility early — owning customer relationships, delivering growth, and operating at pace within a fast-growing challenger brand. You'll work directly with major UK retailers, influencing key decisions across pricing, promotions, distribution and category strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Own and lead day-to-day relationships with key grocery customers
- Develop and deliver Joint Business Plans (JBPs) aligned to clear commercial targets
- Identify and unlock growth across distribution, pricing, promotions and range
- Take full ownership of account P&L, balancing volume, value and profitability
Performance & Decision Making
- Use EPOS, market data and internal performance to drive decisions
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities and act quickly
- Track and deliver against volume, NSV and margin targets
- Lead regular reviews internally and with customers
Execution & Delivery
- Own promo planning, pricing execution, trade marketing planning & shelf stand-out
- Ensure flawless execution across all customer processes (NLFs, forecasts, promo submissions)
- Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain and Marketing
- Deliver consistently, even under pressure and tight deadlines
Who This Role Is For
We are intentionally targeting high-potential & highly driven individuals from two backgrounds:
- Blue-chip FMCG - Currently a Junior Account Manager/Account Manager with strong training, ready for more ownership and pace
- Challenger / smaller business - Currently an Account Manager already owning accounts and looking to scale impact
Requirements
- Commercial & Analytical, thinks in outcomes, not just tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, driven and highly resilient
- Strong academic track record preferred
- Visible impact – your decisions directly influence business performance
Why Join Genius
- Real ownership early – you will own key customers, not support them
- Visible impact – your decisions directly influence business performance
- Fast progression – we invest in and promote high performers quickly
- Challenger mindset – faster pace, less bureaucracy, more opportunity
- Purpose-led brand – improving lives in the gluten free community
What We Offer
- Competitive salary
- 25 days holiday a year
- Hybrid working with minimum 2 days in the office a week
- A stunning office space shared with inspiring, high-performing people you'll learn from daily!
We can't wait to hear from you!
