Are you a Data Engineer who’d enjoy making a big impact by architecting and building a modern data estate, in a greenfield environment, for a not-for-profit organisation where your data expertise will genuinely make people’s lives better? Our client has embarked on modernising its technology to improve service delivery for its customers & improve business efficiency.
This opportunity will see you:
- Design & implement the Azure Databricks infrastructure for future data, BI and AI capabilities. Scalability & data security are paramount.
- Deliver Ingestion, Transformation and Governance of data from key applications that support a reliable “single version of the truth” for reporting and analytics.
- Design & deploy secure, scalable ETL or ELT pipelines with Databricks, Delta Lakehouse & Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS).
- Establish & embed DataOps & DataSecOps practices (CI/CD, version control and automated security scanning of data pipelines).
- Increase the capability of the Power BI Architecture.
- Enable reporting / BI for informed business decision making and consider the benefits AI can deliver.
Your contribution will really improve people’s lives and, through organisation efficiencies & BI, services can be offered to more customers in need. It's truly meaningful. There’s also the opportunity to mentor team members, collaborate with colleagues and the business if you wish.
ABOUT YOU
We’d like to hear from you if you bring expertise in:
- Data engineering architectural principles with proven data systems design.
- SQL and Python with an understanding of medallion architecture.
- Implementing & operating cloud-based data platforms, ideally Azure and Databricks OR you might have worked with MS Fabric (or similar) and like to transfer to Databricks.
- Be excited to build something really well in a greenfield environment without legacy.
- Making the right technical decisions to deliver something great.
DESIRABLE (not essential)
- Power BI security & admin.
Salary: circa £63,000 Plus benefits including 25 days hols + 8 days public rising to 30 days, pension, discounted gym membership, holiday purchase, retail discounts, Health Cash Plan and more.
Hybrid Working: 2 days a week in the Bridgend Office, 3 days a week from home.
