Join Our Team as an SDR Team Lead at Genio!
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Team Lead to join our growing sales team. In this role, you’ll lead from the front—coaching and supporting our Sales Development Representatives to uncover new opportunities and spark conversations that convert.
You’ll be responsible for driving outbound success through smart targeting, creative prospecting, and close collaboration with both our Growth Marketing and Account Executive teams. Meet the team:
At Genio, our Sales team is made up of three closely connected functions that work together to drive growth and impact in the North American Higher Education market:
- Our Account Executive team includes three Account Executives and one Senior Account Executive, focused on converting qualified opportunities into long-term partnerships.
- Our Account Management team supports and grows those relationships, made up of one Account Manager and one Junior Account Manager.
- Our Sales Development team is where the journey begins, with five SDRs generating and qualifying new leads.
The team is led by our Sales Manager, Izzy, and works in close partnership with Marketing and other teams across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prospecting & Lead Generation : You’ll lead by example—engaging with prospects through inbound qualification and outbound outreach, primarily in the North American Higher Ed space. You\’ll nurture leads and pass qualified opportunities to the AE team.
- Team Coaching & Development: You’ll support your team’s growth through regular training, 1:1s, and call feedback, helping them sharpen their skills and stay motivated.
- Performance & Reporting: You’ll monitor key metrics, keep HubSpot reports up-to-date, and use data to guide team focus and performance improvements.
- Collaboration & Strategy: Working closely with Sales, Growth Marketing and AEs, you’ll shape outreach strategies, influence lead generation campaigns, and share insight that drives results.
- Process & Team Growth: You’ll refine our sales playbook, contribute to hiring decisions, and help build a high-performing, collaborative SDR team.
About you:
We’re looking for someone with:
- At least 1 year of proven success hitting sales targets, with a drive to find better, more efficient ways of working.
- Exceptional communication, listening, and interpersonal skills—you build rapport easily and lead with empathy.
- A self-motivated attitude, strong organisational skills, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities confidently.
- Experience leading projects or initiatives, with a focus on achieving outcomes and rallying others around a goal.
- A proactive mindset—constantly looking for ways to help the team improve, aligned with broader sales goals.
- The ability to create a positive, inclusive working environment built on trust, encouragement, and collaboration.
Preferable but not essential:
- Previous experience in a sales leadership or team lead role.
- Familiarity with the North American Higher Education market.
- Hands-on experience using HubSpot or a similar CRM.
Salary and benefits:
Up to ÂŁ36,000 with uncapped earning potential

We have a beautiful office space in Leeds and we love it when we get together to collaborate in person. We typically operate a hybrid way of working, however some of our roles support remote working within the UK, if you live more than 50 miles from the office.
