The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

The role holder is responsible for the delivery of operational tasks that the Health and Safety Unit (HSU) are accountable for. The position works closely with the Health and Safety Unit Advisor(s) and the Head of Health and Safety, and must be able to work independently.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Deliver various administration activities to ensure the efficient running of the global Health and Safety programmes.
  • Monitor the Group H&S Mailbox and act as focal point for H&S queries.
  • Develop and track HSU programme action plans.
  • Assist in the preparation and logistics of health and safety training and workshops; maintain first aid and fire warden training records.
  • Oversee logistics of the Bank's medical suite in HQ.
  • Organise awareness campaigns such as Global Health and Safety Day and Road Safety Day.
  • Support the HSU during crisis situations, including medical evacuation or relocation of staff.
  • Contribute to ISO 45001 alignment with document revision control and maintenance of records.
  • Maintain the HSU stockroom, ensuring adequate supplies.
  • Collate data to support reporting for various forums and undertake trend analysis.
  • Maintain the HSU intranet page and ServiceNow (H&S) tool.
  • Prepare risk assessments and assist with drafting H&S guidance.
  • Investigate incidents and update the incident reporting tool.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Introductory level health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
  • Entry level membership to IOSH or equivalent.
  • Commitment to Continuous Professional Development.
  • Understanding of health, safety and welfare requirements and legal obligations.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Desirable

  • Progression to Tech IOSH Membership.
  • Fire Safety Risk Assessor / NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification.
  • Experience in higher‑risk environments (construction, manufacturing, etc.).
  • Second language proficiency.
