Main duties of the job

As a Lead Therapy Radiographer, you will play a pivotal leadership role in delivering and developing our radiotherapy service. You will lead both clinical and non-clinical teams, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, operational excellence, and continuous service improvement. Job responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and develop the radiotherapy service to achieve all operational objectives and maintain exceptional patient care standards
  • Manage, support, and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, governance, quality assurance, and radiation protection standards
  • Take an active clinical role across the patient pathway, leading by example
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and service development initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with clinicians, patients, stakeholders, and external partners
  • Oversee training, development, and competency of team members
  • Manage incidents, complaints, and feedback effectively to enhance service delivery
  • Support audit, safety, and quality programmes across the centre

Qualifications

What You'll Have:

  • DCR (DR) or BSc (Hons) in Therapy Radiography
  • Significant post-qualification experience in radiotherapy
  • Strong leadership and people management experience
  • Expertise across radiotherapy processes including pre-treatment, treatment, and QA
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • A patient-centred approach with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • Evidence of CPD (MSc desirable or working towards)
  • Disclosure and Barring Service Check
