The Role:

As the Senior Diagnostic Radiographer, you will be responsible for supporting diagnostic services at the centre, with a specific focus on CT and Nuclear Medicine, ensuring that all operational objectives and clinical standards are consistently achieved. You will play a key role in maintaining GenesisCare’s reputation for exceptional patient care, service quality, and clinical outcomes. Working closely with the Lead Radiographer, you will support both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of the CT and Nuclear Medicine imaging pathways, contributing to safe, effective, and patient-centred diagnostic imaging services for all patients undergoing investigations. What You'll Do:

  • Liaise closely with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Follow all duties as a health and care professions council (HCPC) registrant (standards of conduct, performance, and ethics).
  • Follow and adhere to all HCPC standards of proficiency.
  • Create the right environment for all diagnostic and radiotherapy staff to work effectively together as a team.
  • Ensure that you follow clinical protocols, policies and procedures at all times and operate in full compliance.
  • Ensure maintenance of safe and effective working practices, including the operation of equipment and systems in use in the centre.
  • Ensure that all patients experience the highest levels of service, in line with the agreed expectations for scanning within GenesisCare centres.
  • Ensure that the unit maintains accurate and complete records of patient treatments, in line with the agreed processes within GenesisCare.
  • Ensure that GenesisCare clinical audit, radiation protection and quality assurance requirements are met.
  • Ensure that compliments are recorded alongside any incidents or complaints that are also escalated to the Lead Diagnostic Radiographer to ensure properly investigated.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with all key stakeholders including patients and their carers, clinicians, and their colleagues.
  • Support the ongoing improvement and continuous development of the care and services provided across GenesisCare and to promote the ongoing success of the company.
  • Contribute to the growth and progress of diagnostic imaging.
  • Lead by example taking an active clinical role in all areas of the patient pathway.
  • Pro-actively maintain own continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with GenesisCare and HCPC professional standards.
  • Ensure flexibility in out of hours working in order to ensure that breakdowns or crises are resolved with minimum impact to service and treatments.
  • Participate in National audit programme.
  • Participate in research trials where necessary and ensure GCP training is up to date where trials are undertaken.

What You'll Have:

Experience and skills:

  • Able to demonstrate at least 2 years post qualification experience with progressive development in that time.
  • Experience in clinical modality dependent on role (CT And Nuclear Medicine).
  • Evidence of empathetic and a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Good understanding of complaints process.
  • Sound understanding of governance.
  • Experience of proactively evolving techniques.
  • A wide range of clinical skills.
  • Evidence of collaborative working.

  • Able to make judgments/decisions with the support of the Lead Diagnostic Radiographer.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • DCR (R) or BSc (Hons) in Radiography (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • A good level of understanding of the legislation relating to Ionising Radiation/Radiation Protection and Health & Safety.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in radiography equipment and techniques.
  • An awareness of UK Health Environment.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of medical terminology and drug/medication names/disease pathways encountered in radiography.
