Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey as a Principal Procurement and Supply Chain Pharmacist at GenesisCare UK? Join our Pharmacy team and play a key role in leading and transforming medicines procurement and supply chain operations across our national network of cancer centres.

The Role:

As a Principal Procurement and Supply Chain Pharmacist with us, you’ll provide strategic leadership, commercial oversight, and clinical governance across the end-to-end medicines supply chain. You will ensure safe, cost-effective, and reliable access to oncology medicines, SACT, and advanced therapies while supporting high standards of patient care across GenesisCare UK. Working closely with the Head of Pharmacy, Lead Pharmacists, and wider operational teams, you will lead on procurement strategy, supply chain resilience, governance, and digital transformation initiatives. This is a UK home-based role with national responsibility, requiring weekly travel across our network of centres. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and deliver a national medicines procurement and supply chain strategy aligned to clinical and commercial objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships, contract negotiations, rebate schemes, and framework agreements to maximise value and cost efficiencies.
  • Ensure continuity of supply for oncology medicines and advanced therapies through effective forecasting, stock management, and contingency planning.
  • Oversee medicines logistics, cold chain transportation, and distribution processes across GenesisCare centres.
  • Ensure compliance with GPhC, MHRA, CQC, GDP, and Royal Pharmaceutical Society standards.
  • Lead governance reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives relating to procurement and medicines management.
  • Support the safe introduction of new therapies and treatment pathways.
  • Drive digital optimisation and innovation across pharmacy inventory and stock management systems.
  • Develop reporting tools and analytics to monitor procurement performance, stock utilisation, and wastage.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, wholesalers, and manufacturers.
  • Lead cost improvement and sustainability initiatives while maintaining patient safety and clinical quality.
  • Provide training and support to pharmacy teams on procurement and medicines governance processes.

What You’ll Have:

  • MPharm or BPharm degree with current GPhC registration.
  • Independent Prescriber qualification.
  • Significant experience in pharmacy procurement, supply chain management, or senior pharmacy leadership roles.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience in supplier management and contract negotiation.
  • Knowledge of SACT, high-cost medicines, and advanced therapies.
  • Strong understanding of GPhC, CQC, GDP, and Royal Pharmaceutical Society standards.
  • Experience using pharmacy inventory and digital stock management systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a national, home-based role.
  • Advanced IT and data analysis skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
