Patient Administration Officer
Location: Genesis Care Cambridge
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract

Join our dedicated team and play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their cancer care journey.

As a Patient Administration Officer, you'll be responsible for ensuring patient referrals are processed efficiently, appointments are booked accurately and patients receive an exceptional level of care and service.

Working closely with consultants, medical secretaries and clinical teams, you'll be an important point of contact for patients and visitors attending our centre.

What You'll Do

  • Provide patients with a courtesy call within 24 hours of receiving a referral.
  • Work closely with consultants and medical secretaries to support the patient referral pathway.
  • Confirm receipt and registration of referrals and ensure they are processed efficiently.
  • Communicate with clinical teams to ensure referrals are effectively managed.
  • Provide patients with all relevant information regarding their appointments at Genesis Care.
  • Request datasets, medical images and previous treatment information from secretaries and hospitals.
  • Liaise with NHS Trusts and the internal Finance team to support smooth patient pathways.
  • Book additional services to enhance the patient experience, including wellbeing and exercise medicine services.
  • Manage scheduling of appointments and activities for patients, consultants and staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient and referral information within MOSAIQ and complete MOSAIQ Quality Checklists.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with Genesis Care policies and statutory legislation.
  • Undertake reception duties and act as the first point of contact for patients and visitors to the centre.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming reception environment.
  • Support centre security procedures, including booking patients and visitors in and out.
  • Ensure patients consistently experience the highest levels of service.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the centre and wider organisation.
  • Act as a trainer and mentor for new staff where required.
  • Utilise Datix to record comments, concerns and compliments.
  • Follow all relevant departmental protocols, policies, procedures and safety requirements.
  • Undertake mandatory training and work flexibly to support Genesis Care business objectives.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
