Join GenesisCare Leeds as one of three Lead Physicists – MR and CT Linac and take senior clinical and technical responsibility for radiotherapy physics services across multiple advanced platforms, including Elekta Unity MR Linac and CT based adaptive linacs.
The Role
You will act as a senior clinical physicist and Medical Physics Expert within the centre, providing hands on leadership across treatment planning, machine QA, adaptive workflows and clinical governance, while working closely with the Physics Service Lead and wider MDT.
What You’ll Do
- Provide clinical and technical leadership across MR Linac and CT Linac services.
- Support daily on set adaptive treatments and advanced planning workflows.
- Oversee machine QA, calibration and patient specific QA.
- Train and support radiographers, dosimetrists and physicists locally.
- Contribute to commissioning, service development and research activity.
Training & Development Commitment (Minimum Requirement)
This role includes a formal onboarding and advanced platform training programme aligned to Leeds service mobilisation. This will require regular national travel and extended periods away from home during the onboarding phase. This will be planned in advance.
- Onboarding duration: typically 6 months.
- Off site training: block placements at operational MR Linac and CT adaptive centres (usually 1–2 weeks per month).
- Travel expectation: national travel with overnight stays during training blocks.
- Vendor training: Elekta Unity MR Linac, RayStation adaptive planning, Elekta EVO CT adaptive workflows.
- Structured competency development: supervised training in on set adaptive physics workflows, advanced planning systems and GenesisCare QA/governance processes.
What You’ll Have
- HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist.
- Recognition as a Medical Physics Expert (or working towards).
- Extensive experience in radiotherapy physics.
- Experience across MR guided and CT based platforms (desirable).
