This is a rare opportunity to join GenesisCare UK at a pivotal moment of growth as we open a brand-new, purpose-built centre in Leeds. As our Lead Nuclear Medicine Physicist, you will play a key role in establishing and embedding nuclear medicine and theranostics services from the ground up. Working alongside a national network of experts, you’ll help shape how cutting-edge diagnostics and molecular radiotherapy are delivered across GenesisCare.

As Lead Nuclear Medicine Physicist, you will provide expert scientific, clinical and technical leadership across nuclear medicine services, including PET-CT, SPECT-CT and molecular radiotherapy. You’ll play a central role in commissioning services in Leeds and ensuring safe, high-quality practice.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide scientific and clinical support across nuclear medicine and molecular radiotherapy services
  • Lead quality assurance programmes for imaging equipment and auxiliary instruments
  • Support commissioning and acceptance testing of new equipment and services
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations (IR(ME)R, IRR, etc.)
  • Provide expert advice on radiation protection and patient dosimetry
  • Contribute to research, innovation and service development
  • Support training and education across the multidisciplinary team
Training & Development Commitment (Minimum Requirement)

This role includes an onboarding programme that requires frequent training days at our existing centres that provide similar services (Windsor, Surrey, Oxford). This will require regular national travel and multi-day trips away from home during the onboarding phase. This will be planned in advance.

  • Onboarding duration: typically 6 months.
  • Travel expectation: national travel with overnight stays during training.
  • Structured competency development: supervised training from our nuclear medicine Medical Physics Experts to ensure familiarity and competence is gained across all applicable GenesisCare procedures. This training forms a core contractual part of the role and requires flexibility to travel and stay away from home during the onboarding period.
What You’ll Have
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist.
  • Working towards recognition as a Medical Physics Expert (if not already achieved).
  • Experience in the provision of technical and scientific support to diagnostic PET-CT and SPECT-CT services.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of nuclear medicine therapies.
