The Role:

As a Healthcare Assistant with us, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our nursing teams, consultants and diagnostic radiographers to ensure the smooth running of clinical services. You’ll contribute directly to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while building strong, professional relationships with patients and colleagues across the centre. Please note that this role is available on a part-time (30 hours over 4 days) basis.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support nursing staff, consultants and radiographers in the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care
  • Prepare clinic rooms, treatment units, specialist trolleys and equipment prior to clinics and procedures
  • Assist with clinical procedures and provide chaperone support when required
  • Monitor and accurately record patient observations, escalating concerns appropriately
  • Obtain blood and other samples, ensuring correct handling, storage and transportation
  • Maintain clean, tidy clinical environments in line with infection prevention and control policies
  • Support patients with mobility, dressing and comfort, acting as a patient advocate at all times
  • Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
  • Provide administrative support, including preparation of clinic lists, medical records and pharmacy assistance
  • Contribute positively to a professional, compassionate environment that reflects GenesisCare values
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and data protection standards are upheld at all times

What You’ll Have:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent QCF qualification)
  • Experience working in a healthcare or customer-focused environment
  • A caring, empathetic approach with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and remain professional under pressure
  • Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills
  • Basic IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Willingness to undertake training (including venepuncture, if not already trained)
  • Awareness of patient confidentiality, data protection and the UK healthcare environment
